Scott Smith Promoted to VP of Finance and Business Operations

Scott Smith has been promoted to vice president of Finance and Business Operations for Comcast’s Heartland Region, which includes Indiana, Kentucky and Michigan. In this role, he manages a team of more than 200 employees and is responsible for leading all financial aspects of the region, including forecasting and budgeting, as well as overseeing real estate, facilities and supply chain functions.  

 

Smith started his career with Comcast in 1997 as a senior staff accountant. Throughout his 25-year career with the company, he has held numerous finance and business operations positions. Prior to his promotion, Smith served as senior director of finance for Comcast’s Heartland Region. In this role, he oversaw the region’s financial planning and analysis functions, including financial statement review, budgeting, forecasting, and financial and operational analysis. Before joining Comcast, he worked for Arthur Andersen in Detroit. 

 

Smith earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Wayne State University in 1994. He is an active member of the metro Detroit and Comcast community, with membership and mentorship roles served in numerous organizations across the area. He is a mentor for the Comcast Cable Finance Diversity and Inclusion Mentor Program and a Women in Cable and Telecommunications Network member.
