Metro Detroit Science and Engineering Fair Winners Surprised with Laptops

30 students received laptops to support long-term digital skills, STEAM education
Comcast surprised 30 students with laptops at the Science and Engineering Fair of Metro Detroit Award & Appreciation Luncheon.
In partnership with CODE313, The Science and Engineering Fair of Metro Detroit, and the Detroit Pistons, Comcast celebrated the science fair winners from seven counties around the Detroit area.
More than 5,000 students participated in the STEAM Slam Science and Engineering Fair, including elementary, middle and high school students from Lenawee, Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, Washtenaw, and Wayne County school districts. Comcast volunteers also assisted with event setup and hands-on activities.
A Partnership for STEAM Education
“Our goal is to provide equitable access to STEAM education to help to close the digital divide for youth in our area,” said CODE313 CEO Bartel Welch. “Comcast not only shares that goal, but is also a supportive partner in helping us cultivate and celebrate the education and success of the students who need it most.”
