“Our partnership with Comcast goes beyond that of a traditional internet provider – they’re a real partner in serving our members and their families,” said Ashley Bond, chief executive officer, Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Flint. “Our goal is to enable young people to reach their full potential through education, recreation, and positive community experiences. Fun and interesting programming like Hunt.Fish.Feed. helps us achieve that goal.”

In addition to providing a meal to every Club member and family member in attendance, Comcast volunteers are assisting professional chef Paul Comes with preparing and serving the meal.
“We’re committed to serving the families and community partners that live and work alongside our own team members in Flint.”

“We’re committed to serving the families and community partners that live and work alongside our own team members in Flint,” said Craig D’Agostini, vice president, government & regulatory affairs, Comcast’s Heartland Region. “This event allows us to bring something special to the members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Flint with our longstanding partners at Sportsman Channel.”
Sportsman Channel created the Hunt.Fish.Feed. program to connect families experiencing food insecurity with underutilized food sources, like game meat and fish. Since 2007, the network – and parent company, KSE Media Ventures – have served more than 45,000 meals and donated over eight tons of game meat and fish to organizations and shelters in more than 90 cities across the United States.
“Michigan has some of the greatest number of deer hunters per capita than anywhere else in the county, and this time of year, access to venison skyrockets,” said Jeff Brown, Director of Affiliate Sales and Distribution, KSE Media Ventures. “But to take advantage of the resources around us, we need to be educated sportsmen and sportswomen. Learning about Michigan’s hunting season, getting permits, and sharing your experience with others, all require the digital skills and internet access that Comcast and Boys & Girls Clubs provide families every day.”

Support of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Flint is made possible by Project UP, Comcast’s $1 billion initiative to connect people to the internet, create digital opportunity, and build a future of unlimited possibilities in Flint and across the country.
