DSO and Comcast partner to bring live concert streams to CN900

The Detroit Symphony Orchestra onstage.

The Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) and Comcast have partnered to bring the DSO’s groundbreaking Live from Orchestra Hall webcast series to Xfinity Channel 900.

Ten concerts on the 2018-2019 DSO Classical Series will be broadcast live on Comcast’s Xfinity Channel 900, with additional concerts to be confirmed. Many concerts on the recently-announced 2019-2020 Classical Series will be carried by Xfinity as well, with additional details to be announced later.

Live from Orchestra Hall has been streamed more than 1 million times since its launch, with viewers around the world tuning in on internet-connected devices of their choice. Now, local Xfinity customers will have the additional option of viewing Live from Orchestra Hall performances on the biggest screen in their home.

This new partnership gives the DSO greater exposure to more viewers across Michigan, particularly those who are more likely to tune in on their televisions versus over the web on a computer. For Comcast, broadcasting the live concerts adds more value for the company’s Michigan video subscribers.

Live from Orchestra Hall is presented by Ford Motor Company Fund and made possible by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
